Justin Sun's HECO Chain Vulnerable to $86 Million Hack Amid Exploit Worries

Huge $86 Million Transfer

Recently, a massive $86 million was transferred from a HECO account to an unknown address. This transfer was flagged by the on-chain security platform Cyvers Alerts, which uses AI to detect suspicious activities.

HECO Chain is a collaboration between Tron and BitTorrent, created by Justin Sun to facilitate asset transfers between Ethereum and the HECO Chain.

Another blockchain security firm, Peckshield Alert, reported a separate 10,145 ETH transfer, suggesting that the operator’s address may have been compromised.

Estimates and Compensation

The total amount involved in the exploit has now risen to $86.6 million. Various altcoins were compromised, including Tether, Chainlink, USD Coin, Uniswap, Shiba Inu, Huobi Token, and Ethereum.

Justin Sun confirmed the compromise of the HECO Chain and HTX, promising to fully compensate for the losses incurred in the hot wallet.

As a precautionary measure, the platform has suspended both deposits and withdrawals to protect user assets while the investigation is ongoing, reassuring the community of the security measures in place.

Justin Sun’s Connection to Exploits

There has been a series of exploits in Bridges, particularly those associated with Justin Sun, raising suspicion. The recent Poloniex hack, in which Justin Sun is an investor, saw $120 million compromised.

Poloniex has offered a $10 million white hat reward to recover the funds, but the association with Justin Sun’s investments has led to speculation and suspicion surrounding the ongoing series of hacks.
