Splitgate Partners with ZBD to Integrate Bitcoin Earnings

Splitgate, a popular first-person shooter game known for its portal mechanics, is introducing the ability to earn Bitcoin through gameplay. Fintech startup ZBD has collaborated with Splitgate developer 1047 Games to integrate the Lightning Network and enable Bitcoin rewards for players. To showcase this feature, an upcoming tournament called the Splitgate Winter Invitational will offer participants a share of a 0.5 Bitcoin prize pool, equivalent to about $19,000. The tournament will take place in December and will consist of 16 teams competing for the grand finals on December 22.

ZBD Beta Testing and Registration Details

Prior to the tournament, ZBD plans to beta test the Bitcoin integration. Interested players can find more information on registration via the ZBD Discord server. Registration closes before the first round of matches on December 10. To participate, players must be at least 18 years old, have a ZBD account, and reside in the United States or Brazil. Winners of matches will receive Bitcoin rewards, and players also have the option to contribute to the prize pool.

Positive Feedback from 1047 Games CEO

The CEO and co-founder of 1047 Games, Ian Proulx, expressed excitement about the collaboration with ZBD and the upcoming tournament. Despite announcing that active development on Splitgate would end in late 2022, Proulx emphasized that rewarding players with innovative solutions is always appreciated.
