LUNA Volumes Increase with Terra Classic Core Upgrade

The Terra Luna Classic Community Votes on v2.2.1 Core Upgrade

If you’re a member of the Terra Luna Classic community, you have the opportunity to vote on a proposal for the v2.2.1 core upgrade. This upgrade, developed by the L1 Task Force, aims to bring significant changes to the blockchain. Tokens within the Terra ecosystem, namely LUNC, LUNA, and USTC, have been experiencing massive trading volumes as key proposals are being passed and the v2.2.1 core upgrade is up for governance voting.

Terra Luna Classic v2.2.1 Core Upgrade Proposal

The developer behind the L1 Terra Classic Task Force, Vinh Nguyen, has announced that the v2.2.1 core upgrade is now open for voting. If the proposal is passed, the L1TF developer team will upgrade the chain at block height 14,514,000, which is estimated to occur at 14:15 UTC on September 12.

Prior to scheduling the mainnet upgrade, the L1TF team successfully completed the testnet upgrade and addressed all reported issues. Validators joined the rebel-2 testnet, and after the proposal is approved by the Terra Luna Classic community, all nodes and validators should update with the latest release.

The initial voting indicates strong support for the proposal, with 99.65% of the community voting “Yes.” However, there are also some who oppose the proposal, citing the negative impact of the last upgrade on dApps and projects like Astroport. Nevertheless, all validators, including JESUSisLORD, StakeBin, Lunanauts, and Hexxagon, support the proposal.

The v2.2.1 core upgrade brings several key features, including upgrades to cosmos SDK, tendermint migration to CometBFT, IBC-go to v6, and wasmd. It also implements changes that were previously passed through governance voting, such as splitting the burn tax to the distribution module.

LUNC and LUNA Record Huge Trading Volumes

In the last 24 hours, the Terra ecosystem tokens, LUNC and LUNA, have seen massive trading volumes. LUNC’s volume has jumped by 300%, while LUNA’s volume increased by 1900%. Both tokens are also showing price momentum to the upside.

LUNC’s price has risen by 2% in the past 24 hours and is currently trading at $0.000060. Its 24-hour low and high are $0.0000591 and $0.0000635, respectively.

On the other hand, LUNA’s price is trading at $0.41, experiencing a nearly 6% increase in the past 24 hours. Its 24-hour low and high are $0.391 and $0.474, respectively.

Hot Take: The Terra Luna Classic community has a crucial decision to make regarding the v2.2.1 core upgrade. While some concerns have been raised about the potential impact on dApps and projects, the overwhelming support from both the community and validators suggests that the upgrade is likely to proceed. Additionally, the significant trading volumes of LUNC and LUNA indicate growing interest and confidence in the Terra ecosystem. As the blockchain continues to evolve, it’s important for community members to stay engaged and participate in the governance process to shape the future of Terra Luna Classic.
