The Second Most Expensive CryptoPunk Ever Sold for $16.42 Million
In a significant sale, CryptoPunk #7804, one of the nine “AlienPunks” within the 10,000 total NFT collection, was sold for 4,850 ETH, equivalent to $16.42 million, on March 20. This sale surpassed the previous second-most expensive CryptoPunk sale of CryptoPunk #3100 for 4,500 ETH ($16.03 million) on March 4. However, the all-time most expensive CryptoPunk sale remains CryptoPunk #5822, which sold for 8,000 ETH worth $23.7 million on February 12, 2022.

According to data from The Block’s Data Dashboard, CryptoPunks recorded a trade volume of $7.03 million between March 10 and March 16. Additionally, the week before saw sales totaling $25.52 million.
CryptoPunks: Intellectual Property and Ownership
CryptoPunks is an NFT collection owned by Yuga Labs, the creator of the popular NFT collection Bored Ape Yacht Club. Yuga Labs acquired the rights to CryptoPunks in March 2022 from Larva Labs, the original creator.
