According to data from Circana, Starfield surpassed other popular games like Mortal Kombat 1 and Madden NFL 24 to claim the top spot. It is also currently the seventh best-selling premium game of the year, outselling titles like Elden Ring and Final Fantasy XVI.

Microsoft, the owner of Xbox and Bethesda, confirmed that the release of Starfield had a positive impact on its business. The game’s launch resulted in a spike in Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, contributing to a 9% increase in revenue for Microsoft’s gaming division. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed that over 11 million people have played Starfield so far, with 6 million players joining within the first day alone.

Bethesda, known for popular titles like Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, considers Starfield’s success a notable achievement. Starfield is exclusively available on Xbox consoles and Windows PCs. During its early-access period, the game reached over 330,000 concurrent players on Steam and had one million players online on launch day. Currently, it has around 37,000 concurrent active players. Starfield has also gained popularity on Twitch, with approximately 1,300 concurrent viewers watching streamers play the game.
