San Antonio Spurs rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama, who recently made a six-figure sale through Sorare NBA, is now gearing up for his debut in NBA Top Shot. Wembanyama, along with other new NBA players, will be featured in the upcoming “Rookie Debut: Headliners Web pack” dropping at 3pm ET on Tuesday.
Each pack will contain five NFT collectibles, showcasing video highlights from NBA players, with one of the moments featuring a highlight from the mentioned rookies. The packs will be priced at $79 each, with a total of 2,445 packs available for purchase.
Wembanyama has been making waves for the Spurs, notably scoring 38 points in a single game last week. His first single-edition “Unique” digital trading card for Sorare NBA sold for over $110,000 at auction, surpassing the highest price paid for one of his physical trading cards.
NBA Top Shot operates on the Flow blockchain and was a prominent player in the 2021 NFT boom. However, sales have declined significantly since then, with approximately $1.5 million worth of NFT trades in October compared to a peak of $220 million in February 2021. Dapper Labs also oversees NFL All Day and UFC Strike collectibles platforms.
