South Korean Tech Firm NHN to Develop Crypto Games on Sui Blockchain
South Korean tech company NHN has announced that its gaming division will develop crypto games using the Sui blockchain. NHN is known for creating popular social casino games like Hangame Poker and mobile titles such as Crusader’s Quest and Guns Up! Mobile War Strategy, with a total user base of over 37 million.
The company’s upcoming digital board games will incorporate non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Although NHN hasn’t specified how NFTs or crypto tokens will be integrated into the games, Jine Lee, NHN’s Head of Business Development, revealed that they are exploring options for players to send items to each other as NFTs and potentially earn crypto token rewards.

Lee explained that NHN sees crypto-powered games as a paradigm shift in the gaming industry. They aim to combine the value created by game content with the economy of in-game currency through tokenomics. NHN joins several other South Korean gaming firms, including Krafton, Com2us, Wemade, Nexon, Neowiz, NCSoft, and OneUniverse, in embracing blockchain gaming.
