New Delhi: Nifty Auto Index Closes on a Negative Note
On Monday, the Nifty Auto index ended the day in negative territory. Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.84 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.91 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 0.11 per cent), and Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.03 per cent) were the top gainers, while Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 1.93 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 1.48 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.38 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 1.1 per cent), and Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 1.1 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.07 per cent down at 16365.3, with the Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ending down 82.0 points at 19443.55, and the BSE Sensex standing down 325.58 points at 64933.87.
Stock Movement
Out of the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 ended in the green, while 34 closed in the red. The most traded shares on the NSE were YES Bank, Reliance Power, JP Power, Vodafone Idea, and Infibeam Avenues.
Crest Ventures, Everest Kanto, SMC Global Secur, Wockhardt, and Thejo Engg hit their fresh 52-week highs, while Compuage Infocom, Penta Gold, Amines Plastic, SS Infrastructure, and Fourth Dimension Sol hit their fresh 52-week lows.
