Nifty Bank Index Closes on a Negative Note
If you’re following the Nifty Bank index, you’ll know that it closed in the red on Monday. The top gainers of the day included Punjab National Bank, Au Small Finance Bank Ltd., Federal Bank Ltd., Bank of Baroda, and IndusInd Bank Ltd. On the other hand, ICICI Bank Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd., Axis Bank Ltd., and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. were the top losers of the day. The Nifty Bank index ended 0.24 per cent down at 43891.25.
The Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 82.0 points at 19443.55, while the BSE Sensex stood down 325.58 points at 64933.87. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 ended in the green, while 34 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Reliance Power, JP Power, Vodafone Idea, and Infibeam Avenues were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Additionally, shares of Crest Ventures, Everest Kanto, SMC Global Secur, Wockhardt, and Thejo Engg hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Compuage Infocom, Penta Gold, Amines Plastic, SS Infrastructure, and Fourth Dimension Sol hit their fresh 52-week lows.
