Nigerian Authorities Pursue Binance Exec in Kenya ๐Ÿšจ๐ŸŒ

Update on Binance Executiveโ€™s Case with Nigerian Authorities

In the latest development regarding the situation between Binance and Nigerian authorities, the government has located the executive who escaped from Nigerian custody in late March. The Federal Government has tracked him down in Kenya and is now initiating the extradition process.

Binance Execโ€™s Extradition Process

The Nigerian Federal Government has uncovered Nadeem Anjarwallaโ€™s whereabouts in Kenya, following his escape from custody. The authorities are now starting the process to bring him back to Nigeria to face the charges against him. It was reported that Anjarwalla went into hiding as soon as he arrived in Kenya, but the government has successfully located him.

โ€œWe have found him. We know where he is. He is in Kenya, and weโ€™re working with the authorities to bring him back to Nigeria.โ€

Efforts are underway to ensure his extradition, with collaboration between Nigerian authorities, the Kenyan government, and INTERPOL. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chair confirmed the cooperation in the extradition process with international agencies and governments.

Escape of Anjarwalla

On February 26, Binance executives Nadeem Anjarwalla and Tigran Gambaryan were detained in Nigeria over tax evasion allegations. Anjarwalla managed to escape from the custodian house where they were staying on March 22, using his Kenyan passport to leave Nigeria on an airline after visiting a mosque.

The escape raised questions about how Anjarwalla obtained his documentation and managed to flee from security. The guards responsible for monitoring him are now being questioned by special investigators from various security and intelligence agencies and services.

Details about the logistics of Anjarwallaโ€™s escape and his current whereabouts are yet to be revealed to the public. Meanwhile, the other detained Binance executive, Tigran Gambaryan, is still in the custody of the EFCC. His trial, which was initially scheduled for April 19, has been postponed.
