Nova Labs Launches Unlimited Mobile Plan on Solana Blockchain

Nova Labs’ Helium Mobile service has introduced a nationwide mobile plan in the U.S. that offers unlimited data, text, and talk for $20 per month. The company claims that this plan will create the largest 5G network in the nation. Nova Labs’ CEO, Amir Haleem, stated that they believe cell phones are an essential service and customers deserve better than carriers who hide high subscription rates and additional fees.

Partnership with T-Mobile

Nova Labs has been working towards this nationwide phone plan since September 2022, when it partnered with T-Mobile. The Helium Mobile service integrates the peer-to-peer Helium Network on the Solana blockchain and a comprehensive 5G network across the country. Previously, the service underwent a limited trial in Miami.

Decentralized Network and Hotspot Nodes

Nova Labs currently provides a hybrid cell service that allows users to connect through its decentralized network. Individuals can operate hotspot nodes from their residences or businesses and receive rewards in Solana-based tokens. In areas where Helium hotspots are not available, T-Mobile will ensure continuous service.

Becoming a Builder with Helium Mobile Hotspots

Helium Mobile offers outdoor and indoor mobile hotspots for $499 and $249 respectively. Subscribers can set up these hotspots to expand the network and eliminate dead zones. The Helium Network currently has thousands of operational mobile hotspots and active hotspots dedicated to internet-of-things devices.

HNT Token Price Increase

Following the announcement of the unlimited mobile plan, the price of Helium’s HNT token experienced a modest increase. The current value of the token is $4.25 according to CoinMarketCap.
