Antpool Takes the Lead in Bitcoin Mining
After being overshadowed by Foundry for some time, Antpool has emerged as a top player in terms of hashrate achievement. In November, Antpool mined the highest number of blocks, accounting for 27.46% of the global hashrate that month. Over the past three days, Antpool mined 126 blocks, compared to Foundry’s 114, giving Antpool a three-day average hashrate of 29.51%, slightly ahead of Foundry’s 26.70%.
November Performance and All-Time Rankings
Throughout November, Antpool mined 1,218 blocks, while Foundry mined 1,216 blocks, with Antpool responsible for 12 out of the 16 empty blocks during that period. However, when looking at the total number of blocks mined since their inception, Antpool trails behind F2pool.
Comparison with Other Mining Pools
F2pool is currently the leader in total blocks mined with 82,410 blocks, followed by Antpool with 79,990 blocks. Foundry, despite its strong performance in 2022 and 2023, ranks behind several other mining pools. Btc.com, Braiins (formerly Slush), Viabtc, and the now-defunct Btc Guild have all mined more blocks compared to Foundry.
Performance in the Past Year
In the past year, Foundry’s dominance is evident, as it mined 16,335 blocks compared to Antpool’s 12,041 blocks. Both outperformed the third largest pool, F2pool, during that period.
Hot Take: Antpool Emerges as a Leading Bitcoin Miner
In a surprising turn of events, Antpool has surpassed Foundry as a frontrunner in Bitcoin mining. With its consistent performance and high number of blocks mined, Antpool has established itself as a major player in the crypto mining industry. However, it still faces competition from other mining pools such as F2pool, which holds the title for the most blocks mined overall. It will be interesting to see how this rivalry unfolds in the coming months and whether Antpool can maintain its lead in the ever-evolving world of Bitcoin mining.
