OpenAI Removes Sam Altman, Installs Mira Murati as Interim CEO

Big Leadership Changes at OpenAI

OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, has made significant changes to its leadership team, removing founder Sam Altman from the CEO position. In a November 17 blog post, the company announced that Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati will step in as interim CEO.

The decision followed a thorough review process by the Board of Directors, which found that Altman had not been forthcoming in his communications with the board, impeding its ability to carry out its duties. Altman was not available for immediate comment.
