Parallel Studios Expands Sci-Fi Trading Card Game with NFT Cards
Parallel Studios has announced the launch of its first expansion to its sci-fi trading card game, introducing over 120 new NFT cards. These cards can be purchased in blind packs and traded before they are officially added to the game. The expansion, called Planetfall, offers players three different card bundles to choose from.
Card Bundles and Pricing
The Player Pack costs 0.018 ETH (approximately $32) and includes 10 cards. The Collector’s Pack is priced at 0.18 ETH ($320) and also contains 10 cards. For players looking for a larger collection, the Collector’s Crate is available for 1.6 ETH ($2,848) and includes 10 Collector’s Packs, totaling 100 cards.
About Parallel
In Parallel, players must select one of five factions and create their own card decks. They also choose a playable main character card called a “Paragon” and engage in 1v1 battles where the objective is to reduce the opponent’s health points to zero.

Players do not have the option to choose specific cards in their packs. The Collector’s Pack and Collector’s Crate provide buyers with “rare” cards, while the basic Player Pack offers a mix of common, uncommon, and rare cards.
Release and Platform
The Planetfall bundles will be available for presale on October 25 for select early adopters and on October 28 for a wider audience. However, these new cards will not be added to the game until Q1 or Q2 of 2024. Unlike previous NFT packs on Coinbase’s Ethereum scaling network Base, the Planetfall NFT sets will exist on the Ethereum mainnet. This means players may incur higher transaction fees but won’t need to bridge any crypto to the Base network.
New Patch and Game Updates
A new patch for Parallel’s beta version will be released next week. It includes a battle pass, cosmetic skins, new game options like emotes and field backs, and an in-game store. The patch also improves the game’s visual layout and automatically includes a player’s rarest cards in their decks.
Parallel’s Success
Since its beta launch in July, Parallel has released over 1,200 different NFTs, totaling nearly 6 million assets. The game has generated approximately 78,000 ETH in total volume traded, equivalent to around $237 million.
In addition to NFT cards and starter decks, Parallel has released an avatar PFP collection that provides owners with in-game benefits such as extra PRIME, Parallel’s ERC-20 token, for wins.
Hot Take: Expanding Possibilities for Gamers
Parallel Studios’ expansion of its sci-fi trading card game with new NFT cards offers players more options to enhance their gameplay experience. With the introduction of the Planetfall expansion, gamers can now collect rare cards and engage in battles using different factions and decks. The release of blind packs adds an element of surprise and excitement to the game. Additionally, Parallel’s decision to operate on the Ethereum mainnet eliminates the need for bridging crypto to other networks, simplifying the purchasing process for players. The upcoming patch and game updates further demonstrate Parallel’s commitment to providing a dynamic and engaging gaming experience for its users. As the game continues to grow in popularity, Parallel is solidifying its position in the NFT gaming industry.
