Proof Collective Drops New Collection
Proof Collective is launching a new 20,000-piece NFT collection called Mythics to revive interest in its Moonbirds brand. The collection will be released gradually, with 100 new NFTs unveiled daily for the next 200 days. Half of these NFTs will be randomly selected eggs, while the other half will be burned Oddities. This slow rollout aims to enrich the intellectual property and keep the community engaged.
More About The Mythics Collection
The Mythics collection is a follow-up to Moonbirds, offering an engaging and entertaining experience for collectors. It is divided into three categories: stone eggs, legendary eggs, and runic eggs. Each egg type can spawn a specific number of Mythic forms, with legendary eggs spawning three, runic eggs spawning two, and stone eggs spawning one. The NFT minters get to choose which form of Mythic to spawn from each egg type.
Change In Licensing Model
Unlike the previous Moonbirds collections, Mythics holders will have complete commercial rights over the artwork and characters’ IP. This departure from the Creative Commons CC0 licensing model allows for exclusive commercial use and reproduction of the NFT artworks.
Will Moonbirds Regain Their Popularity?
Moonbirds sales have declined significantly due to the cooling interest in the NFT market, resulting in plummeting average sale prices. However, Proof Collective, led by CEO Kevin Rose and supported by a16z, is expanding the Moonbirds brand lore with Mythics to reignite interest and expand the storytelling through art and technology.
Hot Take
Proof Collective’s gradual release of the Mythics collection shows strategic thinking to revive interest in Moonbirds. By offering a new experience and allowing NFT holders commercial rights and control, they aim to attract collectors and create a more exclusive market for their NFTs. With the backing of top investors, Proof Collective has the potential to regain popularity in the NFT space.
