The Secretary for Security of Hong Kong Vows to Tackle JPEX Crypto Exchange Fraud

The Secretary for Security of Hong Kong, Chris Tang Ping-keung, has made a commitment to address the JPEX crypto exchange fraud, which is being referred to as the most significant digital asset deception in the country. Tang emphasized the importance of apprehending the main culprits behind the scam during a media briefing. He acknowledged that capturing these ringleaders is crucial for effectively addressing the case.

In addition, Tang revealed that collaborative efforts with regulators in Hong Kong are currently underway. The objective is to implement stringent measures that will prevent any future instances of fraudulent activities. This announcement comes after numerous complaints and regulatory warnings regarding JPEX’s practices. The exchange’s decision to increase withdrawal fees to 999 USDT was seen as an attempt to discourage users from withdrawing their funds.
