A US judge has sentenced Ryan Salame, one of the high-ranking officials of the collapsed crypto empire, to 7.5 years in prison for illegal activities.
Salame’s Conviction
Judge Lewis A. Kaplan issued the sentence on Tuesday after Salame pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges, including making illegal political contributions and operating an unlicensed money-transmitting business.

According to U.S. Attorney Damian Williams, Salame’s actions significantly undermined trust in the electoral process and financial integrity.
Consequences and Penalties
In addition to the 7.5-year prison term, Salame faces:
- Three years of supervised release
- Over $6 million in forfeiture
- More than $5 million in restitution
