Crypto-friendly Swiss Bank SEBA Rebrands as AMINA Bank
SEBA Bank AG, a crypto-friendly bank based in Switzerland, has announced a rebranding and will now operate under the name AMINA Bank AG. According to the press release, this rebranding will not impact current clients, as all operations will continue as usual.
The new name, AMINA, comes from the word “transamination,” which signifies the transfer of one compound to another. The bank states that this change represents the transformation of its clients’ financial future. AMINA aims to merge traditional, digital, and crypto banking to unlock new potential for its clients.
AMINA Bank operates globally from its headquarters in Zug, Switzerland, with branch offices in Abu Dhabi and subsidiaries in Hong Kong and Singapore. The latter three will subsequently apply for a name change to align with Zug.
Preparing for 2024
AMINA CEO Franz Bergmueller expressed pride in the group’s achievements under the SEBA name and stated that the rebranding marks a new era of growth and strategy. Bergmueller emphasized AMINA’s role as a key player in crypto banking and its mission to define the future of finance.
Looking ahead to 2024, AMINA plans to accelerate the growth of its strategic hubs in Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Abu Dhabi while continuing global expansion.
A Leader in Crypto Banking
Founded in April 2018, AMINA offers fiat and crypto services to progressive investors. In 2019, it received a Swiss banking license and became one of the first institutions regulated by FINMA to provide crypto banking services.
In November 2023, SEBA Hong Kong obtained a full license from the city’s Securities and Futures Commission, allowing the bank to engage in various financial activities involving digital and traditional assets.
AMINA’s partnership with St.Galler Kantonalbank in November 2023 further solidified its position in the industry. The partnership aims to offer custody and trading services for bitcoin and ethereum.
