Introducing the WEN Token: Launch Details and Eligibility
Solana DeFi aggregator Jupiter is set to launch a meme coin called WEN on Friday through its launchpad. The WEN drop is a collaboration between Jupiter and DeFi/NFT protocol Ovols. Pseudonymous Jupiter founder Meow shared more information about the token launch on Twitter, including the creation of an NFT called “A Love Letter to Wen Bros” using a new token standard called Wen New Standard (WNS). The NFT has been fractionalized into 1 trillion WEN tokens, with 70% of the supply distributed equally across eligible Solana wallets. The claim for WEN tokens will start on Friday at 10 a.m. ET.
Eligibility Criteria for WEN Airdrop
The list of eligible wallets for the WEN airdrop includes active Jupiter users over the past six months, Solana Saga smartphone owners, and holders of NFTs from Ovols and several top NFT collections. However, full details regarding eligibility have yet to be confirmed. The Wen Foundation, led by the Ovols NFT community, aims to support the development of public goods and promote what is possible on Solana.
A Test Run Ahead of JUP Token Drop
The WEN airdrop serves as a test run for Jupiter’s upcoming JUP token drop scheduled for January 31. Nearly a million wallets are eligible for this drop, following recent prominent Solana airdrops from projects like Jito and Pyth.
