The auction, titled “Natively Digital: An Ordinals Curated Sale,” includes 19 pieces, featuring rare Satoshis, work by renowned Bitcoin Ordinals artist Shroomtoshi, generative art, and an item associated with the Bitcoin Ordinals brand Taproot Wizards. Bidding for the auction will close on Jan. 22 at 2:00 p.m. ET.

In a statement, Sotheby’s stated that the sale aims to highlight the diverse creativity within the Bitcoin ecosystem as Ordinals have experienced significant growth in the past year.

Sotheby’s Successful First Auction of Bitcoin Ordinals

Sotheby’s recently concluded its inaugural auction of Bitcoin Ordinals on Dec. 7. Sotheby’s head of digital art, Michael Bouhanna, described the sale as a testament to the explosive growth of Ordinals as a new platform for artists and creators to expand their reach in digital art and collectibles. This innovative avenue showcases the convergence of digital art and crypto culture while pushing the boundaries of how we perceive digital collectibles.
