The Starknet Foundation’s Starknet Provision Program Rewards Community Members with STRK Tokens
The Starknet Foundation has announced the launch of the Starknet Provision Program, which aims to distribute its utility token, STRK, to community members. The program will distribute over 700 million STRK tokens to approximately 1.3 million wallets in the first phase, with a total of 900 million STRK earmarked for distribution.
STRK is used for transaction fees, staking, and governance functions within the Starknet ecosystem. The token will be distributed to Starknet users, Ethereum developers, StarkEx users, and early community contributors.
Enhancing Community Development and Participation
The Starknet Foundation intends to strengthen community development and participation through the distribution of STRK tokens. The network will distribute tokens to 1.3 million wallets, covering the gas fees associated with claiming the tokens.
Starknet emphasizes the importance of community engagement and participation in achieving wider adoption. Eligibility criteria for receiving STRK include a minimum number of transactions, active participation for a certain period, and contribution to the GitHub repository within the Starknet network.
Distribution Process and Token Allocation
In this round, 700 million out of the designated 900 million STRK tokens will be distributed. The Starknet Foundation has allocated a total of 1.8 billion tokens (18% of the supply) for distribution. The distribution will take place from February 20 to June 20.
Tokens that are not claimed during this period will be sent back to the pool for future distribution programs. Only individuals or entities from countries not under sanctions are eligible for the airdrop.
