Global trading and technology company Susquehanna has made significant investments in spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), demonstrating a strong commitment to the cryptocurrency market.
Susquehanna’s Massive Bitcoin ETF Purchases
In a recent filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Susquehanna revealed its acquisition of 17,271,326 shares of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) in three separate transactions totaling $1.09 billion.
- The investment in GBTC, now valued at $955.10 million, represents Susquehanna’s largest allocation to a spot Bitcoin ETF.

In addition to GBTC, Susquehanna also invested in several other Bitcoin ETFs:
- 1,349,414 shares of Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) for $83.74 million
- 583,049 shares of BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) for $23.6 million
- 560,832 shares of Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB) for $21.7 million

Regulatory Approval and Market Caution
The SEC approved 11 applications for Bitcoin investment products in January, underscoring the growing institutional interest in cryptocurrencies. However, the regulatory body cautioned that Bitcoin remains a volatile and speculative asset, urging investors to exercise caution.
