This year has seen a decline in NFT sales and floor prices for popular collections like Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks. According to The Block’s Data Dashboard, the floor prices for these collections dropped by 57.6% and 13.8% respectively from January 1 to November 28, 2023.

The Most Expensive NFT Sales of 2023

Despite the overall decline, Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks still dominated the list of the most expensive NFT sales this year. Four NFTs from each collection made it to the top 10 list, along with one Art Block Fidenza and one Mutant Ape NFT.

Bored Ape Yacht Club #5116 — 440 ETH

This Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT sold for 440 ETH on March 7. It is a rare NFT with trippy fur and a Kings Crown.

CryptoPunk #3307 — 500 ETH

CryptoPunk #3307 stands out among other NFTs for its lack of any rare attributes. It sold for nearly $1 million worth of ETH on August 4.

Mutant Ape Yacht Club #30002 — 500 ETH

This Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFT features a unique “mega zombie” trait and was bought for 500 ETH on September 1.

Bored Ape Yacht Club #4980 — 530 ETH

Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT #4980 has several rare traits, including solid gold fur, a gray background, and more. It sold for 530 ETH on May 15.

CryptoPunk #8531 — 550 ETH

This CryptoPunk NFT is one of the “ZombiePunks” and has rare attributes like stringy hair, a goatee, and regular shades. It was sold for 550 ETH on July 15.

Bored Ape Yacht Club #1734 — 600 ETH

Selling for $1.2 million worth of ETH, this Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT has solid gold fur, a faux hawk, and other unique traits.

CryptoPunk #7458 — 600 ETH

Another ZombiePunk, this CryptoPunk NFT features a knitted cap, shadow beard, and regular shades. It was purchased for 600 ETH on November 6.

Fidenza #545 — 625 ETH

Part of the Fidenza collection from Art Blocks, this NFT sold for 625 ETH and stands out for its “small” scale trait.

Bored Ape Yacht Club #7090 — 800 ETH

This Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT sold for $1.6 million and has rare attributes like solid gold fur and heart-shaped glasses.

CryptoPunks #5066 — 857 ETH

The most expensive NFT sale of 2023 was CryptoPunk #5066, which sold for $1.4 million. It is a zombie punk with unique attributes like an earring, knitted cap, and smile.

This year has been a mixed bag for NFT sales. While overall sales and floor prices have declined, certain collections like Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks continue to command high prices.
