Nvidia, GDS, AirTrunk and ByteDance Partner for Data Center Projects in Singapore
Nvidia, a leading technology company, has teamed up with Chinese data center solutions provider GDS to develop new data center projects in Singapore. Additionally, there is a collaboration between AirTrunk and ByteDance to establish data center facilities in the city-state. As of January 2022, there are over 70 operational data centers in Singapore, making it the dominant player in Southeast Asia’s data center market.

Singapore has emerged as the third-ranked country globally and the top-ranked country in the Asia Pacific region for data centers. According to a report by Cushman and Wakefield, Northern Virginia and Portland in the U.S. tied for first place, while Hong Kong secured the fourth position. The demand for data centers in Singapore remains high due to the rapid growth of digital applications, e-commerce, internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), crypto-trading, blockchain activities, online gaming, and the shift towards hybrid working and business digitalization.
