Square Enix to Launch First Ethereum NFT Game, Symbiogenesis
Square Enix, the renowned video game publisher responsible for popular franchises like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, is preparing to release its first original Ethereum NFT game called Symbiogenesis. The auction process for Symbiogenesis will commence on Monday, November 27 and will be divided into three waves for the first batch of NFT-based characters. The first wave will take place on November 27-28, followed by the second wave from November 30 to December 1, and the final batch from December 2-3.
Unique Approach to Minting
In an interesting twist, Square Enix introduced a unique approach to the minting process that could potentially reward early users with free NFTs. However, this depends on the level of demand seen for the assets. The publisher plans to launch a total of 500 character NFTs for Chapter 1 of Symbiogenesis. The first wave will consist of only 10 characters, while the second wave will have 90 characters, and the third wave will offer 400 characters.
Auction and Access
Square Enix opened up allowlist access earlier this month, allowing users to complete quests and challenges within the game’s Discord chat server in order to gain access to the auction. While the Symbiogenesis NFTs will be offered for free to allowlist members in each wave, if multiple people attempt to claim a particular NFT, it will go up for auction where potential buyers can bid for ownership.
