CODX, a hardware company known for its Cooler Star lifestyle products, has released a unique desktop PC called the Snkr X. This PC is designed to resemble a running shoe and will be available for purchase in the United States at a price range of $3,500 to $3,800.
The JDF Design Group was responsible for creating the Snkr X PC, which was originally named the JDF Snkr. It gained recognition from Cooler Star back in 2020 and won an award for “Best Art Direction.” After its initial debut, CODX decided to bring this shoe-inspired PC to the mass market and made improvements by incorporating its brand-new cooling system and power supply into the build.
According to VdoCrdz, the Snkr X is available in four different configurations for the European market, ranging in price from 3,500 to 4,500 euros (approximately $3,600-$4,700). These configurations offer two Intel CPU options and two AMD CPU options compared to the two Intel models released for the U.S. market. European residents also have the choice of splurging on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti or 4080 graphics card, while the U.S. market only has the 4070 and 4070 Ti available.

For sneaker enthusiasts contemplating whether this PC is worth around $2.3K, let’s consider its performance standpoint. At first glance, it’s difficult to determine whether the shoe-shaped PC has adequate airflow for optimal performance as real-view photos suggest that things might be a little cramped inside.
The $3,800 “Professional” build of the Snkr X features a powerful Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti 12GB graphics card and an Intel Core i7-13700K processor. According to the graphics card manufacturer Nvidia’s website, the 4070 Ti GPU alone typically costs $800. The Intel CPU costs around $400 when bought separately. The unique power supply of the Snkr X costs approximately $140, and the motherboard’s comparable counterpart would cost anywhere between $220 and $400 depending on the version you choose. Additionally, the speedy 2TB NVMe solid-state drive and memory sticks would cost around an additional $130 and $80 to $100, respectively.
Building a comparable model yourself without the shoe casing would cost around $2,100, plus the expenses of components like additional cables, case fans, and cooling devices. However, you wouldn’t have a PC in the shape of a shoe.
