For example, NFT land plots offer larger spaces than basic plots, and certain NFT project holders can use their owned profile pictures as in-game avatars.
Additionally, there’s an optional VIP pass that unlocks additional in-game features, which can be purchased with RON, the native cryptocurrency of the Ronin network.
The PIXEL Token: Launch and Airdrop
PIXEL will be the main crypto token in the Pixels gaming universe. It is set to launch on Binance on February 19, 2024. Tens of thousands of early players will receive an airdrop of PIXEL tokens, and more tokens will be awarded in the future through play-to-earn features in the game. Previously, Pixels had an in-game token called BERRY, which is being phased out and exchanged for PIXEL tokens.
To be eligible for the PIXEL airdrop, players had to participate in the “play-to-airdrop” campaigns. In total, 20,000 players’ wallets were selected in the first round in 2023, and another 8,000 wallets were picked in January 2024. Additionally, a Binance Launchpool campaign offers rewards for users who stake Binance Coin (BNB) or the FDUSD stablecoin.
The Future of Pixels
Pixels has exciting plans for the future. Founder Luke Barwikowski aims to expand and improve the farming gameplay, enhance the game’s scope, and introduce new incentives and rewards for players. The game already offers daily quests that can award PIXEL tokens and plans to make changes to resource management and provide more benefits to NFT land owners.
Although Pixels will always be free to play, the team wants to ensure that players who invest in NFT land or purchase the VIP upgrade receive tangible perks. Collaboration between players may also become more common as they seek to share in these benefits.
