Uniswap Transaction Fees Surpass $1 Million
If you’ve been following the decentralized cryptocurrency exchange Uniswap, you’ll be interested to know that transaction fees have now exceeded $1 million. According to The Block, the platform has accumulated a total of $1.1 million over the past 25 days since the introduction of user interface fees. On average, Uniswap earns about $44,000 in commissions per day, which could amount to over $16 million annually.

In mid-October, Uniswap implemented a 0.15% fee for swaps on its web app and wallet, with all proceeds going towards developing future projects and products of the cryptocurrency platform. Interestingly, in June, 45% of Uniswap community members opposed the introduction of fees during a vote. Additionally, users have noticed a new KYC function in the repository of the fourth version of Uniswap, sparking concerns about potential whitelisting of decentralized finance (defi) protocols by regulators.
