Uniswap Launches Closed Beta Android App
Uniswap, the world’s largest decentralized cryptocurrency exchange by cumulative volume, has launched a closed beta Android version of its mobile app. Previously only available on PC and iOS devices, Uniswap’s new Android app aims to expand its user base and provide a seamless trading experience for Android users.
Features of the Android App
The new Android beta app allows users to select coins on different chains without switching networks. It automatically detects the network a coin is on and switches accordingly. Currently, it supports Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and BNBChain, with more chain compatibility planned for the future.
The app also incorporates features to enhance security and user experience. It routes Ethereum transactions through a private pool to prevent front-running and sandwich attacks. Additionally, it detects coins with built-in transfer fees and displays them in the interface.
Early Access and Open-Source Code Release
Uniswap has opened up a signup for an email waitlist to distribute copies of the app to early adopters. The team also plans to release the open-source code of the app in the coming weeks as part of its security audit with Trail of Bits.
Competition in Mobile Decentralized Exchanges
Uniswap is not alone in offering a mobile wallet for decentralized exchanges. In 2021, 1Inch launched a mobile wallet for iOS, followed by an Android version in October of the same year.
Hot Take: Uniswap Expands Reach with Android App
Uniswap’s launch of its closed beta Android app marks a significant milestone for the decentralized exchange. By expanding its availability to Android users, Uniswap aims to attract a wider audience and provide a seamless trading experience across various devices. With its innovative features and commitment to security, Uniswap is positioning itself as a leading player in the mobile decentralized exchange market.
