Xbox Launches Official Mastercard for Gamers to Earn Rewards
Xbox gamers now have the opportunity to showcase their gamertags on their credit cards while earning rewards. Microsoft has introduced the official Xbox Mastercard, which enables cardholders to earn points that can be redeemed on Xbox’s website. The card is being issued by Barclays and will initially be available exclusively to members of the Xbox Insider Program in the United States. Points earned vary based on the type of purchase, with Xbox and Microsoft-related purchases earning five times the points per dollar spent. Streaming service subscriptions and food delivery orders will earn users three times the normal points. The Xbox Mastercard offers five design options, including the option to add users’ Xbox Live gamertags. Cardholders will also receive three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service after their first card purchase.
No Annual Fees, but Charges Apply for Certain Transactions
The Xbox Mastercard does not have an annual fee. However, cardholders will be charged for balance transfers, cash advances, foreign transactions, returned payments, and late payments. While the card will have an exclusive rollout for Xbox Insider Program members this month, it will become available to all Xbox gamers next year.
