OpenAI, the company that developed our  trending ChatGPT platform, announced the sudden ouster of Sam Altman from the board of directors. This news came as a shock to the A.I. community, as OpenAI has expressed that it has lost confidence in Altman, a prominent figure in the generative A.I. space.

After the  notice, the price of Worldcoin (WLD) plummeted by 12%, dropping to below $2. WLD is the native digital currency of Sam Altman’s WorldCoin project. Worldcoin acquires users by scanning their irises with its device was known Orb, generating an “iris code” or “World ID” for users. This enables access to the project’s app  and establish a “digital passport.” Critics argue that the project has faced resistance in developing economies and that there are concerns about probable exploitation.

Will WLD Survive?

Sam Altman has been promoting the Digital iris WorldCoin project aggressively, but it continues  to face scrutiny. In addition, due to the SEC’s security regulations, Worldcoin has not launched the WLD cryptocurrency in the United States. In August, Worldcoin encountered resistance from countries like Kenya, leading to the suspension of its initiative to scan citizens’ eyes. On the other side , Tiago Sada, head of product for Tools for Humanity and a whole lot of contributor to Worldcoin, defended the project’s distribution of free tokens and its focus on developing countries.

Although while Worldcoin has faced resistance and criticism, it has made whole lot of efforts to expand into emerging markets and provides users with unique advantages, such as a digital passport.
