The Ministry of Education in El Salvador has partnered with local Bitcoin initiatives, Bitcoin Beach and My First Bitcoin, to introduce Bitcoin education in public schools. The goal is to equip 150 teachers with Bitcoin knowledge, who will then pass it on to their students. The initiative aims to provide a comprehensive economic education and covers topics such as the history of money and the flaws of fiat currency. The accompanying 187-page workbook is available in multiple languages to reach a global audience. My First Bitcoin has already taught over 25,000 Salvadoran students and is expanding its reach to other countries. El Salvador’s adoption of Bitcoin as legal currency has faced challenges, but the government remains committed to its vision.
