Israel Confiscates $1.7M in Crypto from Iranian Military and Hezbollah with Chainalysis Help


The Israeli government has seized $1.7 million in cryptocurrency from wallets connected to the Iranian military and Hezbollah, with the assistance of crypto investigations firm Chainalysis. This marks the first time that cryptocurrency has been seized from Hezbollah and Iran’s Quds Force. The seizure was carried out by various Israeli agencies, including the Mossad spy agency and military intelligence. The funds were in USDT on the TRON network, and the investigation revealed a pattern of funds being transferred through financial facilitators, hawala services, and OTC brokers before reaching Hezbollah-controlled addresses at mainstream exchanges. In May, Israeli authorities also seized numerous Binance accounts tied to terrorist groups.
